Bridgeport International Academy, where students meet the world! Bridgeport International Academy (BIA) is a private, nonsectarian, college preparatory, boarding and day high school with an international student body and faculty. Located adjacent to the seaside campus of the University of Bridgeport, the Academy offers a strong college preparatory curriculum for grades 9 through 12, with the opportunity for students to take college courses and use university facilities. The four pillars that form BIA’s identity, mission, values, and climate are academic excellence, creativity, character development, and global citizenship.

BIA provides a safe and encouraging environment, with a low student to teacher ratio, where students can move freely through their educational experiences. Honesty, respect, and integrity are expected; community spirit based on positive behavior is practiced. Because creativity is highly valued, many academic and extracurricular activities provide opportunities for individual expression.

BIA is located in an area known as Long Island Sound in the seacoast town of Bridgeport, Connecticut, with picturesque views of the ocean, beaches, lighthouses, bike and walking trails, and much more. Bridgeport is about an hour north of New York City and a couple hours south of Boston. The campus is a five-minute walk to the ocean and Seaside Park, which was donated by P.T. Barnum to the city of Bridgeport in 1865 and made famous by the Hollywood movie "The Greatest Showman". Surrounding the School are two significant Bridgeport communities; Steel Pointe, located just north or campus, is a deep-water harbor that hosts several high-end restaurants; and Black Rock which hosts many ocean front properties, several harbors, and some of the most expensive real estate in Connecticut.

The program is developed to give students opportunities for character growth and awareness. The building is multi-use with double and triple occupancy dorm rooms on the third floor. Eight adult staff members reside in the dorms for constant supervision. Additionally, faculty live in apartments on the other floors of the building.
