The English Language Institute at Pace University hosts a diverse population of students, so you will make friends with classmates from all over the world. Students come to New York for a large number of reasons. Our English language programs are focused to help you make the most of your time studying English in America. You will learn many transferable skills such as academic research and writing, public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork, to help give you the essential skills and confidence you need to take the next step towards your life goals. With 3-, 6-, or 7-week sessions throughout the year and a two-week add period, there are frequent start times throughout the year so you can start living your New York dream now!

Studying English at the ELI at Pace gets you access to all of the university’s facilities. From 24-hour access to computers, free use of the library and gym, cheap food in the cafeteria, discounted movie and theater tickets and more, you will have a genuine American university experience at our downtown city campus. Have fun while you learn! Every month there is a full calendar of activities, with a mix of suggested things to do in New York and guided trips led by an English Language Institute chaperone. Many activities are free.

Housing and Dining

There are a number of housing options available for students at the English Language Institute's New York City campus.  Housing options include residence halls, local homestays, hotels and hostels or independent living in a local apartment. There is something for every personality and budget.  Staying with a local family is a great way to experience life in New York and practice your English outside of class.

Pace University offers declining balance meal plan cards for eating at the many restaurants and dining halls on campus. There are also a wealth of local restaurants and markets available.
